The Unicamp Permanent Commission for Entrance Examinations (Comvest) opened registrations for the Unicamp 2027 Entrance Examination this Monday, August 3rd. Registrations can be made until August 31st, exclusively online, using the form available at [website address - please insert here]. electronic page From Comvest. Of the 3.358 regular places for admission to the University in 2027, the Unicamp Entrance Exam offers 2.523 places, distributed across 70 course options, including International Relations and Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, which are debuting this year. The registration fee is 230 reais and can be paid until September 8th. It is possible to choose up to two courses, provided they are in the same area. The first phase of the Unicamp 2027 entrance exam will be held on October 18, 2026, and the second phase will take place on November 29 and 30. Both phases will be held in the morning, starting at 9:00 AM. Before the first phase, there will be Specific Skills tests for candidates applying to Music courses (with video submissions via the internet, between September 14 and 30). For other courses requiring specific skills tests (Performing Arts, Visual Arts, and Dance), these will take place between December 4 and 12.
New Arrivals
Among the new features for the Unicamp 2027 entrance exam is the inclusion of two more cities in São Paulo state for the first phase: Vinhedo and Paulínia. With this, the exams will now be administered in 39 cities. Another new feature regarding the exam logistics is the possibility for candidates from the city of São Paulo to indicate the region of the capital where they wish to take the exams. This option must be selected on the registration form and is subject to the operational availability of Comvest. If demand exceeds the allocation capacity, the order of registration will be observed. The final list of exam locations will be released, according to the official calendar, on November 23rd.
In the enrollment phase, the novelty this year is that Comvest may call a larger number of candidates in the first round than the number of available places, in order to optimize the enrollment process. This measure was taken considering the historical high rate of abstention in enrollment from the first list, mainly due to the coincidence with the enrollment schedules of other universities. Comvest informs that, if more candidates enroll than the number of available places, only those candidates ranked up to the number of places foreseen in the Notice will be enrolled. Those exceeding the number of places will return to the ranking list and may be called if vacancies arise in subsequent rounds.
In addition to these, another previously announced development by Unicamp is the creation of two new courses that will be available as options starting with this entrance exam: Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, and International Relations, both offered full-time at the Unicamp campus in Limeira. Artificial Intelligence offers 30 places in the entrance exam (and 40 in total across all admission methods in 2027), and the International Relations course offers 46 places in the entrance exam (and 60 in total across all admission methods in 2027). Unicamp will no longer offer the Environmental Sanitation Technology course.

In the presentation of the 2027 entrance exam, the rector of Unicamp, Paulo Cesar Montagner, highlighted that the exam represents the main gateway to the University and the first contact thousands of young people have with the institution. “The entrance exam is Unicamp's most direct face with youth. It is through it that thousands of students have their first contact with the University and with our commitment to education, research, outreach, and innovation,” he stated.
Montagner also emphasized that the 2027 edition marks a moment of expansion for the University, with the creation of the International Relations and Artificial Intelligence and Data Science courses. According to him, the growth is being planned to strengthen the campuses and expand access opportunities. “We are expanding responsibly. Our commitment is to grow without compromising academic quality, and to continue innovating to meet the challenges of university education.”
In presenting the new features of the selection process, the director of Comvest, José Alves, stated that the entrance exam maintains the characteristics that have consolidated it as a national benchmark. “When the entrance exam was created, it had a very clear intention to reinforce Unicamp's identity as a bold university, committed to the transformation of the country. It is an exam that values reading, interpretation, and text production, stimulating a critical view of reality.”
Alves highlighted that, in this edition, the adoption of the system of Overbooking This will allow for a larger number of candidates to be called in the first rounds. According to Alves, the measure was based on statistical studies and aims to accelerate the filling of vacancies. “We want to start classes with the largest possible number of students already enrolled. Historical data gives us confidence to adopt this model and make the enrollment process more efficient.”
Comvest's deputy director, Ana Maria Almeida, added that the opening of registrations marks one of the most important moments on the University's calendar. "It is a great joy to begin this moment so important for thousands of students and their families."
Comvest's academic coordinator, Márcia Mendonça, explained that the Unicamp entrance exam will continue to prioritize the candidates' analytical and reflective abilities, without neglecting alignment with the content covered in high school. "Our exam seeks balance. We work with texts of different genres and contemporary themes, always respecting the high school curriculum," she stated.
According to her, the goal is to evaluate students capable of understanding complex societal issues and constructing consistent arguments. “Contemporary themes set the tone for the exam. We don't shy away from social debate, but we address these issues seriously and responsibly. We want students capable of thinking about the world and understanding societal debates,” she added.
Enem-Unicamp automatic registration
Comvest informs that the possibility of early registration, on the Vestibular form, remains for candidates from public schools, in the Enem-Unicamp modality. Therefore, when registering for the 2027 Vestibular, candidates from public schools who opted for PAAIS (a bonus program for students from public schools) and/or ethnic-racial quotas will already be automatically registered free of charge in the Enem-Unicamp 2027 modality, and a new registration in October will not be necessary.

Candidates who are "trainees," meaning those who will not complete high school by the end of 2026, must select one of three options: Trainees in Humanities/Arts, Trainees in Exact/Technological Sciences, or Trainees in Biological/Health Sciences. Candidates in the trainee category will have their ranking published and will receive a certificate of participation. Important: students in this category do not participate in the Specific Skills Tests and are not called for enrollment.
