TV Unicamp becomes part of the TV Brics network.

Partnership with international project will export the knowledge produced at the University to a global audience.

The network's partners include more than 100 major media outlets from 33 countries, and its coverage currently reaches 80 countries. "I express my highest appreciation for this fruitful partnership with TV Brics, whose magnitude is of paramount importance to our institution," emphasizes the SEC's communications coordinator, Márcio Cataia.

“This agreement transcends media cooperation, establishing a convergence of purposes in strengthening the scientific and cultural agenda. It is a fundamental instrument for the democratization and dissemination of academic knowledge on a global scale,” he added.

Janna Tolstikova, Director-General of BRICS TV, highlights that more than 30 universities, including those from Russia, India, South Africa, and Brazil, are part of the network, created in 2017 after the BRICS Heads of State Summit in Xiamen, China. “BRICS TV has built a true international system of cooperation with universities, allowing the media network to regularly broadcast information to the global community about the scientific achievements and prospects of the BRICS+ countries, about governmental and business initiatives in this area, about the research advances of young talents, and the effective training of personnel for science and the social sphere,” she states.

“Ultimately, this informational environment positively impacts technological progress and improves people's quality of life. Cooperation with the State University of Campinas will undoubtedly bring new elements to the consolidated BRICS agenda and enrich it with interesting materials,” he concludes.

A Unicamp TV It produces high-quality content and develops interview and debate programs that translate science into accessible language. Highlights include the program "Analisa," which discusses current topics with experts, and "Repórter Unicamp," which focuses on recent research and discoveries. In addition to traditional broadcasting, the TV station is heavily involved in the production of short videos and dynamic formats for digital platforms.

The series “Fear of Eating”, produced in partnership with the Center for Studies and Research in Food (Nepa), will be among the first participations of Unicamp TV On BRICS TV. In 11 episodes, the program investigates "nutritional terrorism," addressing topics such as the fear of eating specific foods, eating disorders, childhood nutrition, and the influence of emotions on diet. The series' themes align with current discussions about the excess of information on social media, which often creates excessive fear regarding basic foods.

BRICS TV Network

BRICS TV operates a 24-hour television channel based in Moscow, Russia. Partners are present on a multilingual portal, and the network's reach is estimated at 1,5 billion users. Among its objectives is strengthening the role of national media from BRICS+ countries in the global news landscape.

The portal tvbrics.com It features a 24-hour news feed and exclusive editorial materials of an informative and analytical nature in text, audio, and video formats, in Portuguese, Russian, English, Chinese, Spanish, and Arabic. Through an information exchange system, the materials published on the portal are regularly distributed to media outlets in dozens of countries.

The programming of the Brics TV channel in Russian is broadcast throughout Russia via digital TV operators, online TV channel streaming services, free-to-air TV channels, video hosting websites, and social media.

In China, TV Brics promotes the regular broadcast of productions on China Central Television (CCTV) and airs its materials on the Chinese websites China Daily, Near Bridge, and Dongbei Wang. In India, it is present on the channels Asian News International (ANI), DNA India, and Times of India, in addition to airing material on the platforms of ten media outlets. In South Africa, it broadcasts its programming on the portals DurbanTV, DepiMedia, and African Times, as well as maintaining a programming block on the Africa Channel.

In Brazil, the station is present in 20 media outlets, such as a broadcast block on Rio de Janeiro's Community TV and on radio stations Cultura Brasil and Toda Palavra.

TV Brics acts as an international information partner in various events organized by universities, including the Kostomarov Forum of the Pushkin State Institute of Russian Language (Russia), the postgraduate forum of the Durban University of Technology (South Africa), the Brics Documentary Festival of the Federal University for Latin American Integration (Unila–Brazil), and, in partnership with Jawaharlal Nehru University (India), conducts videoconferences within the scope of its informative and educational project “Contemporary Russian”.

Communication policy

SEC is the body responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing Unicamp's institutional communication policy. Its mission goes beyond simply disseminating news. The body acts as a center for curating and translating the knowledge produced at the University.

As the repository of institutional memory, SEC's mission is to consolidate Unicamp's identity. Through the convergence of digital media, the audiovisual center, and print journalism, the organization prioritizes a continuous narrative that unites the University's history with its innovations.

Its central objective is to ensure that academic, scientific, cultural, and artistic excellence transcends the walls of the campuses and reaches different audiences in a clear, ethical, and transparent manner. In this context, the SEC is not merely a press office, but a public communication structure that works to ensure that the University fulfills its social role, being accountable to society and fostering critical thinking.

In the field of science communication, to cite one of its missions, the SEC assumes the responsibility of "translating" technical and complex language into accessible formats. In doing so, the agency not only informs but also combats misinformation, strengthening public trust in science and public institutions.

Among its main areas of activity is editorial production. Journal of Unicamp (JU), published in print and online versions, is one of the leading scientific journalism outlets in the country and publishes reports on cutting-edge research, as well as offering space for the debate of ideas and opinion articles.

Officially created by Deliberation CAD-230/2015 and implemented on December 15, 2016 (Resolution GR-031/2016), the SEC was born from the unification of two historical structures of the university: the Communication and Press Office (Ascom) and Unicamp Radio and Television (RTV).
