The Regional Hospital of Piracicaba (HRP-Unicamp[Name of institution] maintained one of the most important international certifications in the healthcare field: the Canadian Qmentum Diamond Accreditation. The maintenance visit took place over two days and aimed to verify the continuity of the quality, safety, and efficiency standards adopted by the institution.
During the evaluation, specialists toured different sectors of the hospital, observed care routines, analyzed protocols, and spoke directly with leaders and multidisciplinary teams. The process also considered indicators related to patient safety, care management, and continuous improvement.
Recognized worldwide, the Qmentum certification is considered one of the most respected accreditation methodologies in healthcare, attesting to the commitment of certified institutions to safe, humane, and excellence-based practices. HRP-Unicamp achieved the Diamond seal in 2024, and since then has maintained continuous work to improve its internal processes.
A reference point in the Brazilian public health system (SUS) for an area encompassing 26 municipalities and 1,6 million inhabitants, the HRP-Unicamp has provided more than 728 services to 144 patients since its inauguration in 2018.
With a structure geared towards medium and high complexity medical procedures, the hospital currently has 104 beds, 8 operating rooms, 14 consulting rooms and a team of 776 employees, in addition to the integrated work of medical and dental residents from Unicamp.
