A delegation from the University of Potsdam, Germany, visits the University.

Rectors of the institutions highlight the strengthening of existing cooperation relationships and are exploring new areas of collaboration.

A delegation from the University of Potsdam, in Germany, visited Unicamp this Thursday (5), an institution with which it already maintains institutional cooperation programs. The objective of the visit, in addition to strengthening existing relations, is to promote greater academic mobility, explore new areas of collaboration and identify potential sources of funding to support joint initiatives.

The rector of Unicamp, Paulo Cesar Montagner, and his counterpart from the German public institution, Oliver Günther, exchanged experiences and discussed possibilities for partnership. “There is a lot of interest and opportunity in areas such as humanities, technology, and sports science,” stated Montagner. “Student exchange and cooperation on projects are fundamental,” added Günther.

Inaugurated in 1991, the University of Potsdam, with courses in Humanities and Natural Sciences, Law, Culture, Economics and Sociology, and Digital Engineering, has 22 students, 14% of whom are international. The main research areas are cognitive sciences, data science, Earth and environmental sciences, as well as evolutionary biology. “It is important to identify exchange opportunities and proposals for online work and partnerships, which could strengthen the internationalization of Unicamp,” highlighted Rafael Dias, head of the Executive Directorate of International Relations (Deri) at the University.

The meeting was attended by professors Petrilson Pinheiro da Silva, director of the Institute of Language Studies (IEL), Rodrigo Camargo de Godoi, from the Department of History of the Institute of Philosophy and Human Sciences (IFCH), and Leonardo Tomazeli, from the Faculty of Applied Sciences (FCA), who presented their units' projects and the possibilities for partnership.
