The rector of Unicamp, Paulo Cesar Montagner, received representatives from the Embassy of the Netherlands in Brazil, this Tuesday (3), in order to discuss possible partnerships. At the meeting, the advisor for Science and Education of the Dutch government, Ernst-Jan Bakker, said that the objective of the European country is to stimulate interaction between the university and the country's higher education institutions and to promote joint research in all areas of knowledge.
“Unicamp is a university that has long maintained partnerships with the Netherlands, and we, as diplomatic representatives, believe it is important to learn about its management, strengthen ties, and discuss potential projects for the future,” said Baker.
“There are already agreements signed between Unicamp and Dutch universities and companies, especially regarding research on energy transition, but we believe that these agreements can be extended to other areas, such as water treatment, sanitation, among others,” he added. “We are here to build bridges,” he summarized.

The Dutch government's advisor for Innovation, Technology and Science, Robert Thijssen, said that the goal is to stimulate interaction between foreign universities and the country's higher education institutions.
“You came to the right University,” said the rector. “Unicamp is open to new partnerships and collaborations. We are located in an area where a technology and innovation ecosystem is already well-established, and because of that, we have a lot to offer. We very much want to get closer to the major global centers and we have great growth potential,” he added.
The Chief of Staff of the Rector's Office, Professor Osvaldir Taranto, said that Unicamp is interested in expanding agreements in the areas of engineering and exact sciences, and could also extend them to the humanities. He also mentioned that Unicamp wishes to promote the exchange of professors and, especially, students.
The meeting was attended by Jens Krol, consultant for Science, Technology and Innovation from the Netherlands, and Professor Caio Costa Oliveira, who represented the Vice-Rector for Research, Ana Frattini.
