Denis Roston, professor at Feagri, dies

Professor retired in 2024 after 45 years at the University. He leaves behind a wife and a son.

Retired professor Denis Miguel Roston from the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering (Feagri) at Unicamp died this Wednesday (16), at the age of 74, due to pulmonary fibrosis. The information was released by the faculty itself.

Roston retired in 2024 after 45 years at the University and leaves behind a wife and a son. The wake will take place this Thursday morning (17) in São Carlos (SP). In the early afternoon, the body will be taken to the Metropolitan Crematorium of Piracicaba (SP), where it will be cremated.

Roston was director of Feagri from July 10, 2007 to July 09, 2011. 

The professor graduated in civil engineering from the São Carlos School of Engineering at the University of São Paulo (USP) in 1975 and completed his specialization in sanitary engineering at the International Institute for Hydraulic and Environmental Engineering (Netherlands) in 1982. He then completed a master's degree in agricultural engineering at Unicamp, completed in 1985, and completed his doctorate in civil engineering at Colorado State University (United States) in 1993. 

With extensive experience in sanitary engineering, Roston has dedicated himself diligently to various topics related to wastewater treatment, working primarily with sewage treatment, reuse, natural liquid waste treatment systems, and agricultural production waste treatment systems.
